Minors in Communication and Media Arts
The department offers a number of minors in Communication and Media Arts. These provide students an opportunity to add value to their major by developing complementary competencies.
The Communication minor is our most adaptable means for students to compliment their major by choosing courses of interest to them.
The Journalism minor trains students in the theory and practice of journalism, with attention to the role of media in a democratic society
The Media Studies minor provides students an opportunity to explore the ethical, legal, and economics consideration of media and its role in democratic society.
The Political Communication minor prepares students for study at the graduate level, or careers at the emerging nexus of politics and communication. See the Political Communication Minor section in this chapter.
Professional Communication Skills
