Biography:

Jessica Roberts received her Ph.D. in Journalism Studies from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, her Master’s in Print Journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School, and her Bachelor’s in English and Spanish from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to coming to Boise State, she taught Media Studies for two voyages of the Semester at Sea program sponsored by the University of Virginia, and in the Department of Communication at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China. She has worked as a reporter for the Santiago Times in Chile, The Cape Times in South Africa, and the Santa Monica Daily Press in California, and was a reporting fellow for the News21 Carnegie-Knight Initiative in Los Angeles. Her recent work has been published in the International Journal of Communication and Journalism.
