Who We Are: The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has more than 9,600 members in 284 universities across the U.S. The Boise State chapter is a student-run organization formed to cultivate a favorable and mutually beneficial relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. Here at Boise State, we provide PR work for both campus clubs and professional organizations. PRSSA gives students the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge through working with real life clients.
Our Mission: PRSSA at Boise State provides real world public relations experience to college students and strives to bridge the gap between our members and local PR practitioners.
How to Get Involved: Joining us in making a difference in the Boise community! There are two ways to get involved. You can contact PRSSA at firstname.lastname@example.org to join the organization, or you can enroll in COMM 113/313 Communication Activities: PRSSA and earn credit while participating. Motivated students from any major who are ready to build lasting relationships and gain professional experience are encouraged to join us.

What does PRSSA at Boise State University do?
WE HAVE ATTENDED THE 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 PRSSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE. National conference is a great experience for any student interested in PR. We are working hard to be able to send the entire class to the 2014 conference in Washington, D.C.
SPRING 2014 PROJECTS:
Past projects and events:
TASTE OF BOISE
Held on the First Thursday in November at the Center on Main downtown in the Alaska Building, patrons were encouraged to mingle, enjoy live music, and taste what Boise has to offer. Local restaurants donate a variety of foods and desserts which could be sampled for a small donation. Proceeds help fund PRSSA student travel to National Conference.
COMMUNICATION CONVENTION (COMMCON)
PRSSA produces this annual celebration for the Department of Communication each spring on the Boise State Campus. CommCon began as a project in the Events Planning class, but has gone on to become a signature PRSSA event. The event showcases the communication discipline through an interactive gathering of professionals, alumni, students, and prospective students.
Professional communicators of every kind are invited to campus to share their experiences. Local and student television, radio, and newspaper organizations participate and Communication students shared video, audio, and research projects. Attendees enjoy interactive booths and hands-on exhibits, network with local professionals, meet department alumni, and share your experiences with others. Door prizes and refreshments round out the fun at this springtime crowd pleaser.
